Head coach Tony Smith has admitted that Hull KR’s squad is too
and he will be looking to bring in some new signings.
The 52-year-old, who replaced the sacked Tim Sheens at Craven Park, has spent his first week at the helm and, having narrowly lost 19-18 against Wigan last Sunday, he will be hoping to pick up a first win against his former club Warrington Wolves on Saturday.
However, Smith acknowledged that the Robins’ hopes of avoiding relegation from the Super League could depend on bringing in some new faces for the run-in.
The Australian-born former Great Britain and England coach, told Hull Live:
We’re on it. We’ve got a thin squad at the moment and depth is an issue for us so we’re looking at it.
It’s not easy.
Everybody gets to this time of the year and many teams have got their own injury lists and injury woes and vulnerability about the depth they have.
But we’re on the lookout.
